People aren't "easily offended". It's you who keeps refusing to reflect on yourself and be more considerate of others. So why do you still get surprised when the consequences predictably happen? No one likes a victim mentality.

I got involved with a woman that was so kind in many ways but she was almost constantly verbaly condescending .It eventually broke my heart.I was accused of having other women on the side etc. I know I was being tested but all of this meant was that we became lonely in the relationship and lack of closness increased.I knew she was looking for someone else but in the meantime we just ending hurting each emotionally often in subtle ways. She broke it of with me recently by text and blocking eg overnight.I am amazed harsh, mostly women do this. It is very hurtfull.I was very kind to her but I knew she was not up front with me.I am now texting through much pain. Unfortunately I can't just take this on the chin but I will have too.A little bit of brain fog going on.Its going to take time.

While I am not a psychologist or psychiatrist, I am a physician. I have thought that you should have brought the prologue into Bob’s visit. He had already received a phone call from Carwell who was taking drastic action to get rid of Bob. Dreyfus does not put two and two together Until Bob shows up. Dreyfus body language and vocal tone indicate that he already doesn’t want to be in this position with Bob. He is going to keep the distance as far as possible. Yet in revealing the names of his family, there is a disconnect between, his body language and the information he reveals. This brings out one of Dreyfus’s flaws. One of the things to note throughout is how Dreyfus has such a big ego and is trying to perform his duties as a psychiatrist the way the books say that he is supposed to perform. He lies to Bob and says he never gets angry. Only at the end of the movie does he take actions that are over the top in accordance with his anger. If he had expressed true anger, much earlier instead of pretending that he wasn’t angry, maybe he could have squashed the stalking a little bit sooner. I think most people react favorably to this movie because most of us have been in a position such as Richard Dreyfuss was, trying to act out the way that we think we are supposed to act out instead of expressing our true emotions which then gets us even further into trouble.

Let’s remind ourselves of the meaning of criticism: ‘the expression of disapproval of someone or something on the basis of perceived faults or mistakes.’ Note the word perceived. Criticism can either be fair or unfair. It can be constructive or unconstructive. Fair and constructive criticism should obviously be taken on board. Unfair and unconstructive criticism shouldn’t.

Got up today and after 15yrs of marriage my wife says she wants a divorce. I suspect cheating but have no proof. We’ve had issues in the past like many married couples but have been able to pull thru it. She said she can’t do it anymore and that she’s been telling me for yrs and I’ve chose not to listen. Yet, gets me a Father’s Day card saying what an amazing husband and father a few days earlier. Huh? I work 3:30 to Midnight. She works. 6-2:30 from home. We’ve done this for 11 yrs w/ no issues. I go to bed with an I love you on Tues and wake up to a wife that (I had to pry to find out what was wrong w/ her) says I can’t take it anymore and I want a divorce. No crying. Very cut and dry. And then the kicker for me is when she said, you know this isn’t about another guy or anything right? I say, sure if that’s what you’re telling me. Then she comes back with you’re not gonna believe me anyway. Honestly, no I don’t believe her. And I told her that but she just says that’s my choice. I know I’ll get thru it and be ok but it feels like I’ve been punched in the gut. 2 dogs, a 15yr old son, 2 stepsons in the military with 5 grand babies total. Yes my heart is crushed. I wanna run but I’m not turning my back on my son. We have a very special relationship. My wife even said, well you do know he’ll wanna go wherever you go. I said, first off slow down because right now I’m not goin anywhere until we sit and talk to him and then figure out home, finances, dogs etc. It has broken my heart but I will do what’s right for my kid. Whatever that is. I just know my son is going to be absolutely devastated. And that’s the part that hurts most.

Ok.I usually don't leave a bad comment, but oh my goodness. I bet the parents that are still fully supporting their 30 year old babies love you. Children should be taught respect when young, if possible. If that was not able to be the case, what you are promoting is abuse to parents. Most adult children that don't have rexpect, instead, probably learned manipulation and emotional abuse. You are basically telling the parents to take it. I cannot stand by that

I’m in my 40s and my parents at their 70s still do that to me. Gosh I should have taken or sent them to trips to Europe like what their friends’ children have. It feels so bad that all I have done for my parents such as visiting them on weekends and raising their grandchildren well are taken as nothing while these are all I can do in my life.
